Gracie Award

Black Lilac Kitty Literary Services is proud to announce our first writing contest!

Gracie Age 2 - May 12, 2013

The winners of the Gracie Award are:

These were the Guidelines for the contest:

This contest is for adults age 18 and older.This will be a work of fiction.  Any genre, however, erotica/porn will NOT be accepted.

No Entry Fee.

The story must include a cat. 
(The above photo is of Gracie, 6 weeks old, June 2011)

The story must include a Rottweiler.  The Rottweiler cannot be a "mean" dog.

The cat and Rottweiler can belong to the same person or have different owners.

Somewhere in the story must be the phrase "it was a dark and stormy night."

The word count must be at least 2,000 words and no more than 7,000 words.

The story must be saved in a "pdf" file and sent as an attachment in an e-mail to (blacklilackitty@gmail.com).  The subject line of the e-mail must read "Gracie Award."

Include a cover sheet for your story.  The cover sheet will have:
  • Title of the Story
  • Your Name
  • Word Count
  • Date

The story must be written in English.


There is no entry fee for the first story.  For each additional story entered, please submit $5 per story.



Deadline is midnight, United States Central Time - April 1, 2013.


Prizes:

1st Place - $100, plus a Gracie Award certificate and logo to place on your personal web site or blog

2nd Place - $75, plus a Gracie Award certificate and logo to place on your personal web site or blog

3rd Place - $50, plus a Gracie Award certificate and logo to place on your personal web site or blog

Honorable Mention - $25, plus a Gracie Award certificate and logo to place on your personal web site or blog


Winners will be required to sign a release form for the story to be published online at (www.blacklilackitty.com) for one year.

Winners will be announced on May 12, 2013, Gracie's 2nd birthday.
